Dublin’s New Start up Commissioner, Niamh Bushnell Joins the Debate Team

Our autumn Showcase event and Digital Debate will take place on Thursday, 16th October 2014 at 4.00pm.

We are delighted to host this event in the state-of-the-art Gleeson Hall, DIT, Kevin Street, located just off St. Stephen’s Green.

The latest graduates of WebElevate and WebInnovate, which are funded by Springboard, the government initiative to provide higher education and training in skills areas where there are jobs, will exhibit their exciting range of digital products and projects, developed for clients in some of Ireland’s most innovative companies or as part of developing a potential tech start-up.

The latest graduates of WebElevate, our Technology and Digital Programme, will exhibit their exciting range of digital products and projects, developed for clients in some of Ireland’s most innovative companies.

Some of the exciting digital products to be showcased include:

  • An online/TV game for UPC’s Horizon set-top box
  • A conference TV mobile application for Video Bot
  • New websites for Dingle Brewing Company, National Recruitment Federation and Mondello Park
  • Digital marketing strategy for Cassidy Travel and Unipupil
  • Development of a mirco-site for the Irish Blood Transfusion Service
  • An app for sufferers of Dementia in conjunction with Neuro Hero

To coincide with the Showcase Event, we are hosting the second in our lively Digital Debate series where two tech experts are invited to debate one hot topic ‘Do the Irish have the zest for entrepreneurship?’

To launch the second Debate Series, we are delighted to welcome Magnus Ternsjö, CEO of UPC Ireland, Paul Hayes, founder of Games Ireland, who is acting as host for the lively debate and Niamh Bushnell, serial entrepreneur and Dublin’s first-ever start-up commissioner.

This 30-minute debate, 15 minutes a side, will be followed by refreshments and the chance to network with key players in industry. This will be an exciting event with some of Ireland’s brightest minds and a first of its kind for Digital Skills Academy.
